Overview
Never before has it been so easy to create powerful proxy servers.
WyWare Stronghold Proxy Control allows C#, VB and C++ .NET developers to rapidly build proxy servers with the capability to filter, cache and manipulate web server response data.
Further, you gain complete control over user access to Internet sites.
What is a Proxy Server?
A proxy server is a piece of software that intercepts data transmissions between an Internet browser and the web server.
Using WyWare Stronghold Proxy Control you can create your own proxy server that will allow you to cache data, filter information, control which users can access information and even manipulate the data.
Proxy servers are found in use throughout the world in commercial companies, universities, schools and government agencies.
In these situations proxies are used to increase efficiency and/or protect sensitive information from entering and leaving the internal network.
Proxy servers are also in use with Internet providers. Internet providers use proxies to protect their internal network, but also to locally cache commonly accessed web sites to reduce the amount of bandwidth used by their customers. These proxies are often hidden from the user (invisible proxy) so that no configuration is required on the customers computer.
Finally, proxy servers are also used on personal machines for a variety of filtering applications such as virus scanners and adult content filtering software.
